Decoding Kerala ki azaadi and Bangal ki azaadi

In the ongoing JNU situation, by now everyone has heard the slogans. Everyone has seen the passionate love for Afzal Guru “ji” in our TV studios and paid intellectuals in arts (and excuse me…the “social science”) departments of our universities. Every single person who had argued for Varun Gandhi to be arrested and the key thrown away for his inflammatory speech has given passionate lectures on “Freedom of Expression”. Every single person who is ignoring Kamlesh Tiwari sitting in jail for months under “National Security Act” is out on the streets protesting for free speech. Every journalist who has beaten up his critics at Madison Square Garden is out on the streets protesting for dissent 🙂 Meanwhile, another young RSS worker has been slaughtered by Commies in Kerala. Just one more dead Hindu.

But in all this, something has been ignored. Along with the Kashmir ki azaadi slogans, there were two other slogans that went along with them:

Kerala maange azaadi, Bangal maange azaadi

I believe that both Right and Left on social media and mainstream media have let this slogan pass by without much examination. The Left has an obvious vested interest in not talking about this, but the Right is making a mistake in ignoring these 2 slogans. The JNU is the beating heart of the Indian Left, we should not ignore the idea behind these slogans. What is the idea behind these 2 slogans?

Kerala and Bengal have never been disputed territories. So why Kerala and Bengal? At first the choice may seem random among our many states, but it is not. Here is what’s going on:

Hindus constitute 54.72 per cent of the total population in Kerala, with Muslims accounting for 26.56 per cent and Christians 18.38 per cent, according to the population census by religious community 2011 released on Tuesday.

Ah! 54.72%! So, it is not unreasonable to assume that Hindus could fall below the 50% mark by the next census in 2021, which is merely 5 years away.

Three districts which the Muslims have overshot the Hindus at Murshidabad (47 lakh Muslims; 23 lakh Hindus), Malda (20 lakh Muslims; 19 lakh Hindus) and North Dinajpur (15 lakh Muslims; 14 lakh Hindus).”

Notice that in two of those districts, Muslim population exceeds Hindus by just 1 lakh each, which means these are NEW Muslim majority districts. West Bengal’s border districts are the frontier for Muslim expansion into what remains of India. And here, please please please don’t forget the most important fact. Let me put this in bold upper case letters:

WEST BENGAL IS NOT BENGAL. WEST BENGAL IS MERELY A PART OF BENGAL. More than 60% of Bengal has already been “liberated” and made into Bangladesh. The fight is now over just the remaining 35% or so. Bengali Hindus today have control only in about one third of their historic homeland.

So, Kerala and Bengal are now the two hottest frontiers for further Islamic accession of India. It is no coincidence that the Left has started talking about “Azaadi” for Bengal and Kerala. Friends, I feel we cannot afford to ignore this. The JNU is the guiding light for the Indian left…it tells us exactly what the left is planning for our country. If they are talking about Bengal and Kerala, it means Bengal and Kerala are next on their menu. What you see today in Kashmir you will see in West Bengal and Kerala tomorrow. We have just a third of Bengal left. We cannot afford to let it go. I am a Bengali myself. This is deeply personal for me as well.

You know, when I was a kid I asked my dad about this line in our national anthem:

Punjab, Sind, Gujarat, Maratha ..

What happened to the second name in there? Where is Sind? I don’t see it anywhere in the map of the Republic of India. If we don’t stop these anti-nationals now, your children will ask you about the next line in the national anthem:

Dravida, Utkala, Banga

They will want to know where this place called “Banga” is. What will we tell them? If the Left succeeds, will Bengali and Malayalam be classified as “foreign languages” in what is still left of the Republic of India? Will we have to tell our children that Rabindranath Thakur, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and Swami Vivekananda were Pakistanis? Will we have to tell them that Adi Shankara was born in Pakistan?

Dear liberals, take JNU issue to United Nations :)

So, I am still far away in a strange country with a terrible internet connection, but I have become so addicted to blogging that I can’t help saying a few lines nevertheless. It took me like 10 tries loading and reloading but I managed to watch the new video with

“Bharat ke tukde honge: Inshallah Inshallah!”

Nice!

Well, it is nice to see Indian liberals finally discover the importance of free speech. As Opindia put it perfectly, for the Indian liberal, “free speech” is like my uncle’s car, only I can borrow it because he is my uncle, not your uncle 🙂

All these months, Kamlesh Tiwari has been sitting in jail, charged under the freaking National Security Act. Then, no questions of free speech were asked. When Karnataka Police picked up a man and sent him to jail merely for insulting Tipu Sultan in a Facebook post, freedom of expression didn’t come up. Ha! My favorite example is that in 2007, the BJP itself had to attend a “de-recognition hearing” because some BJP leader had released a CD speaking ill about Muslims. Freedom of expression wasn’t threatened even when the main opposition party in the country was threatened with derecognition because it had expressed a view that liberals found objectionable..lol. Where is freedom of expression? In India? You are better off looking for snowfall in Madhya Pradesh.

And so, dear Nehruvian liberals, the sedition laws stay…don’t cry like b*tches because you are now at the receiving end. You should have thought about freedom of speech BEFORE you summoned the BJP for de-recognition over a CD. You should have thought then. Now please enjoy yourselves in jail.

Not surprisingly, some liberals have rehashed the old “Godse smear” and have been sniping at the BJP. Oh come on… Sakshi Maharaj is just one MP out of hundreds of BJP MPs…the BJP is not like your party with 1% vote and 0-5 MPs. And he retracted his words immediately. Now please tell your 2-3 MPs and your little party to stop glorifying Stalin as a matter of policy. You may not need lessons in patriotism from the “worshippers of Godse”, but we also do not need lessons in democracy and free speech from the worshippers of Stalin, Mao, Castro and Che Guevara.

There have also been numerous articles by liberals “warning” the Modi government: telling them they are underestimating the power of JNU. There was one in the Hindustan Times explaining how JNU faculty and alumni have “international connections” and how the New York Times and the Economist may turn against Modi if he keeps up pressure on JNU! ROFL! I burst out laughing. Clearly, lefties are not aware of their own irrelevance.

And there is another reason those threats ring hollow. By definition, a threat works like this:

“Do this OR ELSE I will take away X”

What will you take away, liberals? What have you given the BJP that you can threaten to take it away? You threaten to stall Parliament? Ha! As if you wouldn’t have stalled Parliament if the BJP compromised on JNU! You threaten to unite the Opposition against us? Ha! You have all been united against us since Day 1! What will you do now? You threaten to turn “international opinion” against us? Ha! You already got Modi banned from the US and Europe and Canada and Australia and nothing worked. What threat do you guys have left? What will you do? Will you try to ban the RSS? Already happened several times!! Lol! What is left? And finally, will you threaten that secular state governments will get BJP supporters and workers killed? Ha! BJP/RSS workers are already being massacred under secular state governments in Bihar, Bengal, Karnataka and Kerala. What is left for you guys to do now? What can you do to hurt the BJP that you have not already done 1000 times?

So dear lefties, please understand that you can’t blackmail us. Because you are already using every tactic from intellectual suppression to defamation to physically massacring BJP workers. There is nothing new you can do…

So, dear lefties, be our guest. Go ahead and do your worst. Let us find out who is more powerful: the Home Minister or the “President” of JNUSU. I say take it to the United Nations that Modi’s army has invaded the Republic of JNU and captured its President. A “Head of State” like Kanhaiyya Kumar dragged away by an invading army!!! Go tell the world about this outrage. Go tell them that Modi government didn’t give a flying f*ck about diplomatic courtesy:  He didn’t even inform the embassy of the Republic of JNU (also called Aaj Tak) about the arrest of their President. He should have raised the issue of anti-India activities at the India-JNU summit meeting, no? Go tell the UN how Indian forces captured your little Republic… go tell the UN how Modi will neither recognize the sovereignty of JNU nor the diplomatic immunity of all its ambassadors in TV studios. Go ahead and do your worst…

Tera kya hoga re Kanhaiyya?

Wow friends,

This is fun…as soon as I got connected to the web, I wanted to find out the latest in the secular drama at JNU 🙂 And what do we see? Ever since JNU students resolved for India’s “barbaadi”, there is tremendous excitement within India’s liberal brigade. It seems like political parties are vying for the juicy contract for barbaadi of India. So, who will get this juicy contract? Will it be Congress? Or Ishrat Jahan’s dad? I hear that the Commies have gone to meet Kejriwal over this! Lol! Now that Kejri is big enough to fulfil this lucrative contract all by himself, why would he need to ally and share the spoils with the Commies? The Congress which has been getting this lucrative contract for decades has swung into action…they can’t let their decades old family business just slip into the hands of outsiders, can they? So the Shehzada himself has taken the stage at JNU! In all this, if there are some people we can genuinely feel pity for, it is the unfortunate parents of this Kanhaiyya Kumar. I hear that he is from a poor family in Bihar’s Begusarai…proud parents sent their son to study in the big city, hoping he would make something of himself, get a worthwhile education…but no wonder the ungrateful son is cheating both his mother and his motherland. Well, to be absolutely honest, I feel a little pity for Kanhaiyya Kumar too…that Shehzadi D Raja’s daughter who provoked these folks…she will get her name cleared by invoking her powerful dad’s name…who will save you Kanhaiyya?

Nation shamed as intolerant Sanghis blacken the face of AAP leader Imandar Nautanki Singh

By now, you all know about it. It’s all over the news… anchors on all tolerant channels are reporting the day’s biggest story in a frenzy. Intolerant Sanghis have struck again! When AAP leader Imandar Nautanki Singh arrived at India International Center yesterday, his convoy was first surrounded by Sanghis chanting slogans and ready to throw eggs.

Of course, there was some confusion as to exactly which shiny new Scorpio Imandar Nautanki Singh was sitting in, whether the odd numbered one or the even numbered one. And the presence of numerous cars of security personnel made it difficult for Sanghis to zero in on Imandar Nautanki Singh’s car! In the process, Sanghis attacked multiple cars and as many as 12 innocent eggs were brutally killed in the process…their shells cracked open…their yellow interiors spattered all over the place…in yet another testament to everything that has gone wrong in Modi’s India.

Finally, when Imandar Nautanki Singh stepped out of his brand new even numbered Scorpio, Sanghis threw ink at him, completely blackening his face.

Dear Sanghis, you did not blacken Imandar Nautanki Singh’s face here, you have blackened your own faces and with it the face of India itself. The whole world is laughing at our intolerance. Conscious citizens are on the streets to express their disapproval. I. N. Singh’s face covered with ink is being shown on all channels. The 24×7 media frenzy has finally awakened the nation: students on every campus are outraging…hundreds of awards have been returned by filmmakers, poets, artists and writers since last night… The Jawaharlal Nehru University, built in the name of the founder of India, has advertised as many as 50 new faculty positions and 500 new research scholar jobs in its social studies department to fully study all the implications of the ink attack on I.N. Singh.

Sanghis, the joke is on you. You thought you could shut down our liberal conscience by blackening I.N.Singh’s face. Instead, the nation has collectively risen up against you. All this in just one night.

Oops…this didn’t happen. No such media frenzy was there yesterday. No such face blackening took place outside India International Center. And there is no AAP leader Imandar Nautanki Singh.

But guess what did happen yesterday?

Oh and this happened yesterday too:

Two Opposition leaders shot dead within 12 hours. “Bihar ki beti” might have been killed by Modi’s men, but did they think Bihar does not have other “betas” who will take revenge?  There is no need for a media/liberal/intolerance/award wapsi frenzy. These were just bullets, that too secular bullets protected by freedom of expression! As long as no ink is thrown on the face of a secular leader, the idea of India is totally healthy…

PS: Folks, I am actually a travel freak and love going to strange places. For the next 2 days I am taking a cheap trip to visit  a strange country where I am not sure I will have a good stable internet connection. So, maybe I wont be blogging Sunday and Monday. Cheers and please wish me a happy journey 🙂

Eminent liberals tell the “real” story of Ishrat Jahan

Folks, there are a lot of lies floating around about Ishrat Jahan, the innocent “moon-faced teenager” who was killed by Modi’s men. So, I have finally assembled here the most likely chain of events in the case, as approved by India’s eminent liberals. In fact, the whole thing is so obvious that it is a pity that we even need to lay it out. Almost everyone can see for him/herself that the following sequence of events is the most likely possible scenario…

  1. In June 2004, the Gujarat police probably captured three Wahabi Hindu terrorists by the names of Ramsewak Singh, Harikrishna Shankar and Shivprasad Chaurasia. All three were members of a radical Hindu outfit with millions of members called Lashkar-e-Rama.
  2. On orders from Modi, these three Wahabi Hindus were then likely renamed Javed Sheikh, Amjad Rana and Zeeshan Johar. The Gujarat police then decided to claim they were Lashkar-e-Toiba members and kill them in a fake encounter.
  3. It was it this point that further orders from Modi arrived. The Gujarat police was ordered to drive out of Amdavad, out of Gujarat all the way 500 kilometers to Mumbai and asked to kidnap one  Muslim girl from somewhere at random.
  4. This unfortunate Muslim girl was Ishrat Jahan.
  5. This kidnapped Muslim girl was then driven 500 kilometers back to Amdavad and then killed along with the three Wahabi Hindu terrorists.
  6. Shortly after, Modi probably used his contacts within Lashkar-e-Toiba to get the organization to claim on its website that Ishrat was a Lashkar member.
  7. It was probably at this point that Narendra Modi, having been told by his secret time machine that he would become PM in 2014, bribed David Headley and asked him to get arrested by the FBI. Since that day in 2009, Headley had been sitting in an American jail waiting for the moment that Modi becomes PM.
  8. On becoming PM, things became even easier for Modi. He pressured Mumbai’s TADA court to allow Headley’s testimony by video link.
  9. The final obvious step after this for Modi was to purchase prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam, bribe President Obama, bribe the American FBI and of course David Headley himself to say that Ishrat Jahan was a terrorist.

See? An obvious propaganda exercise pulled off in just 9 simple steps!

Come on now…seriously… just compare this likely scenario above to the alternative theory being pushed forward by fascist communal “bhakts”. Here is their so called alternative theory:

“Ishrat was actually a Lashkar-e-Toiba terrorist”.

Cuckooo!!! ROFL! What a silly thing to say… Come on now…seriously…what are the chances of that? It is a shame on our nation that we are even talking about this alternative theory floated by bhakts and Modi instead of the much more likely simple 9 step process described  above…

Meanwhile, as Modi sarkar cracked down on seculars, some patriots got nostalgic:

These fond memories of Emergency are likely to push CPIM general secretary to ally with Indira Gandhi’s party in Bengal elections.

Decisive words: “Bharat ki barbaadi tak jung rahegi”

Honestly, we the people owe a debt of gratitude to the leftists at JNU. Thank you for admitting frankly what you stand for. Thank you! Thank you very very much! Thank you for finally saying out aloud what the Commies, the liberals, the seculars have been dancing around for so long. All those celebrations of deaths of CRPF jawans at the hands of Naxals. Releasing books claiming that RSS was behind 26/11, thus giving clean chit to Pakistan. Talking of Yakub Memon and Ajmal Kasab as “victims” who only attacked the nation in “public imagination”. Madam ji crying tears for the dead terrorists in Batla House encounter but not for Inspector Mohan Chand Sharma. Constantly trying to nip at the Indian Army with subtle putdowns…openly siding with Pakistan over Army operations in Myanmar or the terror boat incident. Finally, the moment came when you spilled the beans…

Decisive words: “Bharat ki barbaadi tak jung rahegi

(For any friends who might not understand Hindi, it means: “The war shall continue till India is destroyed“)

Thanks for saying it out aloud, thanks for making it clear that you are involved in “jung” (war) against India.

https://twitter.com/rishibagree/status/697323659489226753

In this age of social media, we can now take this to everyone. Let everyone know that Leftists are fighting a war for the destruction of India. They chanted it, loud and clear.

Friends, go see if there was a single Congi speaking out against this yesterday. This happened in Delhi, go see if India’s biggest film critic has tweeted about it. How come it is only ABVP that is protesting against those declaring:

Bharat ki barbaadi tak jung rahegi

Someone tell NSUI that it is not illegal to come out on the streets condemning this. Someone tell the odd-even army and their student organization CYSS that it is not illegal to come out on the streets condemning this. Where did every single political party disappear last night from TV screens and street protests except the RSS/BJP/ABVP?

Free speech is a wonderful thing. Without free speech, the Commie traitors would never have let their mask slip so clearly. Would you rather have these traitors secretly helping ISI? Thank you for making yourselves known. And by staying conspicuously silent, India’s Opposition parties, the Lutyens class and Award Wapsi scum have also told us who they are siding with…

Today, David Headley is testifying by video link in an Indian court that Ishrat Jehan is a Lashkar operative. The gig is up. That face says it all…

As we go through the reactions of the usual suspects, I request all you friends to let the chant of “Bharat ki barbaadi tak jung rahegi” to keep booming through your head.

NDTV declared a state of Emergency:

Folks, can you hear it? “Bharat ki barbaadi tak jung rahegi”

Folks, can you hear it? Can you? “Bharat ki barbaadi tak jung rahegi, jung rahegi!!!”

The perspective being… “Bharat ki barbaadi tak jung rahegi, jung rahegi!!!”

Can you hear the chant: “India Go Back”! “Bharat ki barbaadi tak jung rahegi, jung rahegi!!!”

Can you hear it? “Kitne Afzal maaroge, har ghar se Afzal niklega…”

Remember the chant: “Bharat ki barbaadi tak jung rahegi, jung rahegi”… Thank you for laying it out so clearly…

Mameluk Mohammad Ali asks: why be obsessed with protecting women’s honor?

Mameluk Mohammad Ali, who goes by the somewhat ironic Twitter handle of @hindureporter, recently gave us a fascinating look into the “idea of India” with this article:

http://www.thehindu.com/news/national/saffron-hue-to-bjps-muzaffarnagar-campaign/article8203710.ece

Why do I feel this article is so fascinating? Because it gives us a peek into how the idea of India is in panic over the continuous collapse of caste. Let’s read:

The Ram temple issue and attacks on Muslims found a mention even in meetings of backward groups that were essentially organised over rights of backward castes and were addressed by S.P. Singh Baghel, BJP’s backward morcha chief.

Notice the word “even”. It betrays both the surprise and the nervousness of “Hindureporter” that “even” the so called backward castes would think of themselves as Hindus. What happens to the 250 year project of the British and Indian royal families to keep the “lower” castes from identifying themselves as Hindus? Mameluk Mohammad Ali complains further:

In one such meeting on Friday, when several youngsters belonging to backward castes gave angry speeches highlighting BJP’s ignorance towards their grievances and demanding their rights, Satyapal Singh, the district BJP president intervened and appealed them to talk like “Kanwad, (worshippers of lord Shiva) who do not talk about caste.” “While it was good to talk about one’s rights, we should talk like ‘kanwads’, the Shiv bhakts’ who do not talk about caste,” he politely told the youngsters.

My god! Can we arrest this dangerous hatemonger immediately? Does he not know that dividing people on the basis of caste is the mainstay of the “idea of India”? Without this beautiful gift of caste divisions, there would be no Dynasty rule and by extension no food for Mameluks… Do these people want to starve all Mameluks to death? Horror of horrors…lock this man up and throw away the keys…

The saffron party has put up series of posters across flyovers and markets in Muzaffarnagar which seek to electorally encash anxiety of a patriarchal society over loosening grip on its women who, armed with education and technology get exposed to interact with men from the other community.

Mameluk Mohammad Ali’s article shows the anxiety of a privileged elite ecosystem over the loosening grip on “backward castes”, who armed with education and technology are getting exposed to their Hindu identity instead of their masters in the Lutyens cocktail circuit. As Harish Khare explained to us, the “idea of India” is to cheer for the guy who seeks insaaf for the “underdog” (not the underdog himself, but the guy who claims to seek insaaf for him).  The underdog remains the underdog and the guy who seeks insaaf on his behalf gets rich and powerful in the process….now if the underdog were to suddenly stop seeing himself as the underdog, the entire scheme falls apart. What will the guy who seeks insaaf for the underdog do now, how will he earn and what will he feed his cheerleaders?

In at least three cases which the BJP and affiliated groups portrayed as “love jihad” and “gangrape”, the girls came out to defend their Muslim boyfriends and told the magistrate in court that they ran away with them on their own.

In at least 3 crore cases in which the elite and its affiliated groups portrayed a certain group as “Brahmin-Bania party”, the “backwards” came out to defend their Hindu brethren and decided to vote for them on their own…

When this correspondent asked Kapil Dev, the party candidate why the BJP campaign was so obsessed with the idea of protecting “women’s honour”...”

Exactly! Why be “obsessed” with protecting “women’s honor”? If rape happens, relax…chill out and go take a selfie like Mameluk Mohammad Ali took at Dadri

Ajmal Kasab as a “victim”: the Queen’s court poet shows the sorry state of Indian liberalism

When I started this blog, I made a promise to myself that I would not get hung up on a certain handful of Mameluks who garner most of the RW attention on social media…you know who they are.  The Mameluk ecosystem is vast and RWs perhaps don’t pay sufficient attention to all its strands. Perhaps I keep falling into the same trap. So, in order to “diversify”, I have to call out a particularly egregious article by Harish Khare. Mind you that this is no ordinary Mameluk: he is Editor in Chief of The Tribune and was even media adviser to PM Dr. Manmohan Singh for as almost 3 whole years:

http://thewire.in/2016/01/29/a-padma-for-the-prosecutor-20369/

Perhaps this article will give you an idea of the kind of venomous snakes that Sonia Gandhi’s government had wrapped itself in. It would be no exaggeration to say that Sonia Gandhi was India’s most anti-Hindu ruler since Aurangazeb.

Given that Ujjwal Nikam has prosecuted dreaded terrorists, it comes as no surprise that his Padma award would cause anger among  Sahitya Akademi supporters. But let’s read what Mameluk Harish Khare says:

In the feudal times, kings and monarchs were known to reward with royal honours those whose loyalty and performance they approved of…..The Padma awards, our republican version of the Queen’s Honours List…

Yes, Harish Khare, kings and queens were also known to appoint court poets to go and sing their praises to their subjects. The “Prime Minister’s Official Media Adviser” is the modern version of that…

Ujjwal Nikam gets the Padma Shri in the public affairs category……. But he is no legal luminary. He is not an MC Setalvad..

I agree. He certainly is no M C Setalvad. If he was, his family members would know how to get bail on the phone…

In a society that normally cheers those who stand by and seek insaaf for the underdog, Nikam stands for punishment to one and all.

Notice the clever sentence construction. Harish Khare talks about cheering NOT by the underdog himself, but “those who stand by and seek insaaf for the underdog” 🙂 Get it? It’s not about cheering  the poor masses who struggle to earn a living, but cheering the rich people who seek insaaf for them 🙂 A certain Dynasty has grown very rich demanding insaaf for the underdog for the last 6 decades…go and cheer them!

Nikam is best known as the man who successfully prosecuted Ajmal Kasab and Yakub Memon, two men who in the public imagination had waged war against the Indian state.”

This sentence gives you a glimpse into what Indian “liberalism” has become today. Look at that: Kasab and Yakub waged war against the Indian state in “public imagination“. This is the man who was Prime Minister MMS’ media adviser from 2009 to 2012! The terror attacks on Mumbai were only in “public imagination“, they say… This is where Indian liberalism stands today. In their hatred towards Hindus and India, in their compulsive desire to create a moral equivalence between pagan Hindu India and  Islamic evil, they have moved so far away from the plane of reality that 26/11 now feels to them like it only happened in the “public imagination“.

Perhaps, Nikam can count many others among his victims, but it is his success against Kasab and Memon that has brought him public recognition

Again, friends, THIS is where Indian liberalism stands today. Not only did the Mumbai attacks of 1993 and 26/11 happen only in the public imagination, the people who carried out these attacks are now “victims” in liberal discourse. As liberals write and rewrite history with each successive article, the facts slowly fade away from each version to the next. The attacks of 1993 happened so long ago that by the time Yakub Memon was hanged in 2015, most people had forgotten it all. So, liberals started replacing tales of Yakub’s terrorism with tales of his generosity. He was a mild mannered man who spent time with books and papers, they said. In a decade or two, the myth making around Yakub Memon will reach a point where you will hear liberals tell stories of how Yakub would walk on the water and heal the sick and dying.

What about 26/11? It’s harder because its a more recent event. Everyone remembers Kasab. But will 26/11 still be recent 20 years from now? Today, about 10 years after 26/11, Kasab is already a “victim”. In 20 years, Kasab will become the innocent Pakistani boy who strayed across the border. In 30 years, liberals will tell stories of how nobody is sure who carried out the 26/11 attacks. In 50 years, liberals will show you the Taj Hotel in Mumbai and confidently tell you about 26/11/2008, the night when it was attacked by Wahabi Hindu terrorists led by the VHP.

Now, Harish Khare continues with his complaint against Nikam:

At a global conference on counter-terrorism in Jaipur, Nikam volunteered this information: “Kasab never demanded biryani and was never served the dish by the government. I concocted the story just to break an emotional atmosphere which was taking shape in favour of Kasab during the trial of the case.” As Nikam recalled for us, an “emotional wave” swelled up in favour of Kasab when he bent his head and wiped a tear from his eyes. Newspapers of the day reported Nikam’s thought process. Soon, the electronic media took the cue: “Tears in Kasab’s eyes”. It was Raksha Bandhan that day, and some speculated that Kasab had got emotional remembering his sister. Some even went on to question whether he was a terrorist or not.  So, Nikam felt he had to counter that image (never mind the foisting of the Raksha Bandhan sentimentality on Kasab). He fabricated a lie that the ‘terrorist’ was demanding that he be served biryani.

Wow! I don’t know whether this is an indictment of Ujjwal Nikam or of the Indian media of which Harish Khare is an integral part. And he was even media adviser to the PM at the time this trial was happening! An emotional wave swelled up in favor of Kasab? Where? Who were the people that were part of this emotional wave?

Newspapers of the day reported Nikam’s thought process. Soon, the electronic media took the cue: “Tears in Kasab’s eyes”. It was Raksha Bandhan that day, and some speculated that Kasab had got emotional remembering his sister.”

Newspapers and electronic media! Exactly. The liberal media was experiencing an emotional wave in favor of Kasab. Not ordinary people like you and me. I ask you: did you feel an emotional wave in favor of Kasab? Not me!

Again, 50 years from now you will hear about how Wahabi Hindus attacked Mumbai in 2008 but framed an innocent Muslim boy. An emotional wave rose in favor of the innocent victim, but another Wahabi Hindu like Ujjwal Nikam cruelly sent him to the gallows…

Finally, Harish Khare complains:

A favourable public opinion consecrates itself into national conscience, which, then, acquires a sanctity higher than that of the law.”

From overruling the Madras HC on free speech to overruling the judgement setting aside Indira Gandhi’s election to overruling the court on Shah Bano, the Dynasty knows a lot about having “sanctity higher than that of the law”. Sorry, Mameluk Harish, if poor Ujjwal Nikam truly had achieved “sanctity higher than that of the law”, he would be awarding himself a Bharat Ratna today, not lining up with so many others to pick up a small Padma Shri…

Why won’t the BJP listen to “us”?

This Sunday, internet Hindus including me were in shock when they found the following tweets and FB posts from the Ministry of WCD:

CahniXWW4AEKlGP.jpg

The face of this vile anti-Hindu bigot on the face of a Modi sarkar sponsored campaign sparked a revolt of sorts. I can hardly express in words how deeply offended I was to see this vile creature’s face sponsored by what I thought was “our” government. This is the majority BJP government we dreamed of all our lives. And Nandita Das as a face for it?

Shortly after, the tweets and FB posts disappeared (thankfully). But, after causing such deep offense to all its supporters, the BJP owed us a written clarification. To be fair, Varun did step in with an explanation:

https://twitter.com/varungandhi80/status/696207178126925825

First of all, it is truly lame for Varun Gandhi to give the explanation, that too from his personal Twitter account. Also, I am not impressed by the mentality behind Varun giving an explanation for “Mummy”… the Ministry is not their family fiefdom…professional courtesy demands that the clarification should have come from the Ministry’s official handle. But at least, I am glad they did respond and remove Nandita Das.

This is really the tip of the iceberg, perhaps more like the straw that broke the camel’s back. There is a rising sense of disquiet among the BJP’s online supporters demanding to know why the party wont listen to “us”. Sadly, I believe there are two simple explanations for this.

(1) I have made this first point several times before in comments: if you think of the political market, the BJP has a complete monopoly on the right wing space. It is an immutable law of nature that monopolies produce crappy products. The BJP knows that its right wing supporters have literally nowhere else to go. So, the party does only the barest minimum possible to not lose the right wing. In fact, the BJP is not pro-Hindu, the BJP is rather the only party that is not actively anti-Hindu.

Compare to the left wing, pro-Islamic political space. Extremely competitive. There’s Cong, SP, BSP, JDU, RJD, TMC…and so many jostling for space. There’s AAP in Delhi and Punjab eating up “secular votes”. It’s a Darwinian struggle for survival. It leads to “survival of the most secular”… this is why every pin prick faced by every peaceful echoes loud and clear in Delhi and across the country. If Congress does not serve them well, peacefuls will just take their votes elsewhere. Who cares when Hindus suffer? If the BJP does not raise their issues, who will the aggrieved Hindus vote for? For Mulayam? For Mamata? Lol!

The same also goes for the economic right wing. The BJP can get by with doing the barest minimum to promote business in the country. Because other political parties are so left wing that they see “businessman” as roughly equivalent to “rapist”. Before every election, we are familiar with this standard headline:

X number of candidates have criminal cases and Y number of candidates are crorepatis

Lol! Being rich is seen as disreputable, almost on the same level as being a criminal! This is what happens to public discourse after decades of drinking from the poisonous Nehruvian well.

It’s tough to say what can be done to disturb the comfortable monopoly of the BJP on the right win in Indian politics. We know two things for sure:

(a) Monopolies always produce crappy products: so as long as the BJP’s monopoly lasts, the Hindu and economic right wing in India will be feeble.

(b) If new right wing parties are created to try and break the BJP’s monopoly, seculars will merrily ride to power because of division of votes.

Are we screwed?

(2) The second reason the BJP doesn’t listen to “us” is that quite simply, “our” feedback isn’t integrated into the BJP’s system. A party as big as the BJP tends to have its own babalog and gather its own internal bureaucracy. This internal bureaucracy is drawn purely from RSS pracharaks. Now, I have repeatedly talked about how the RSS influence overrides personal ambitions within the BJP and gives it the ability to expand far and wide…which simply no other party has managed to do since independence. But the RSS structure simply hasn’t absorbed technology and social media. The BJP might be the clear leader online, but these are mostly random people doing things on their own time…like me. There is no real evidence that the online/media/SM teams of the party even have a place at the table where decisions are made. Ditto with party spokespersons. In fact, I honestly feel sorry for folks like Amit Malviya…

This is one place where one can learn from AAP. Almost everyone  knows who AAP’s IT guy is: Ankit Lal is part of their decisions. Ditto with AAP’s TV spokespersons like Assholetosh and Ashish Shaitan….they are all part of Kejriwal’s core team. Of course, this is easier for AAP because of its media based origins and simply for the fact that it’s a very small and new party. Back when the RSS built its structure, no one had imagined there would be Facebook or Twitter. Now they have to integrate these new sources of feedback into the large pre-existing structure.

Well, evolve or perish! The BJP has no family to keep it running. Because it does not survive by reproducing, it has to  survive by evolving.  Evolve or perish!

I’ll end with a small anecdote. Just like that. So, I am young enough to take pride in joining Twitter and Facebook…and laughing at “oldies” who don’t seem to see what the big deal is. But now Whatsapp is the rage and I simply don’t see the point of joining. My student years have been over for a while…maybe I have become set in my ways and I no longer understand what “young people” are doing on Whatsapp. I hear that teens have moved on to things like Instagram and Snapchat. All of them are beyond me…now think about an RSS pracharak high up in the BJP hierarchy, at least 60 years old…

But then, I am mortal. Ideology is not. Evolve or perish.

Troll.in pulls off a masterpiece of “source based reporting”

By now, the adventures of a certain elite reporter and her source “Ankit from IIT” have become legendary in the hall of Mameluk fame. But they say records are meant to be broken. How fortunate we are to be alive to witness Troll.in produce an absolute beauty of source based reporting to achieve a standard no Ankit from IIT, no Ankit from MIT and no Ankit with a Nobel prize in Physics would have thought possible. Friends, I give you this article:

BHU’s slide to the right: pro-RSS teachers get top billing, ABVP students get priority

Friends, I request you not to outrage over this. Please take a step back and admire the amazing work of Troll.in. Just because I cheer for India doesn’t mean I cannot appreciate the fantastic delivery from Glenn McGrath that got Sachin Tendulkar’s wicket for a duck at the Oval during World Cup 1999.

Let us read and unravel this work of art: it is authored by one Rizwana Tabassum and one “Khabar Lahariya”. I presume that the latter is not a real name, but if it is, I salute her/his parents on choosing a fitting name for a worthy child:

On January 2, the Indian Institute of Technology affiliated to the Banaras Hindu University abruptly terminated the contract of visiting professor and Magsaysay award winner Dr Sandeep Pandey. His contract was to end in July. No particular reason was cited for his ouster.

If it was up to me, I would have said that receiving the Magsasay Award should in itself be grounds for termination. But, then…

Of the nine members on the board, only six were present. These included vice chancellor Girish Tripathi and three members of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s ideological parent, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. When Pandey’s ouster on allegations of being anti-national and carrying out Naxal activities on campus was put to vote, two board members abstained. This means that only four members of the board’s nine voted to remove him.

Out of Bihar’s adult population, 56.8% were present to vote. Out of those who showed up, 2.5% abstained by choosing NOTA and 16% voted for Nitish Kumar. This means that only 9 out of every 100 people in Bihar voted for him… Anyways, let us get to the exciting source based part:

As the university starts a new cycle of admissions, Khabar Lahariya takes a look at what’s wrong.

I’m eager. Let’s find out:

In September 2015, the university’s Department of History hired for positions of assistant professor. Among those appointed were Ashok Kumar Sonkar and Satyapal Yadav, both former Banaras Hindu University students. According to an investigation by Khabar Lahariya, both Sonkar and Yadav’s doctoral theses are heavily plagiarised.

But then the question arises: considering that the BHU faculty looked the other way when these “heavily plagiarized” doctoral theses were accepted, which political party are they likely to have received patronage from? Perhaps the one that was ruling the last 10 years? An investigation by Chaiwallah using a source called Google revealed that Ashok Sonkar already had a PhD in 2012

igntu.nic.in/PAOPAIP_AIHC_12.pdf

and received funding for his research proposal from ICHR in 2009 (page 21):

Further, Dr. Ashok Sonkar was among just 25 people shortlisted by the ICHR on March 25, 2014 for a postdoctoral fellowship despite his “heavily plagiarized” doctoral thesis :

Let’s move on:

The appointment process in the history department is opaque too.

Breaking News!

According to sources, Professor Binda Paranjape was supposed to take over as the head of the history department last year.”

I give you a personal guarantee that this source wasn’t a parrot on the footpath…

But she was overlooked to give the current head, Dr Aruna Sinha, her third term. Sources say that this could be due to Sinha’s proximity to the RSS.”

Dear Almighty sources, kindly also tell us how the current head managed to get her first two terms? By using whose proximity?

A master’s student in the history department told Khabar Lahariya that Sinha has begun to regularly refer to the Sangh and its work on Hindutva in her lectures.”

So, what is wrong with historians talking about the Sangh? Dear master source, kindly also tell us when you noticed that she “began” to refer to the Sangh in her lectures. Outside FTII, master courses are 2 years long. If you are still a masters student, the earliest your course could have begun is mid 2014, which is AFTER Modi’s victory. Unless…you know…there was a capitalist conspiracy by fascist Hindu Zionists to keep you failing year after year…

Many irregularities have cropped up even in the admissions process….

I will now continue relating the rest of what the Almighty Sources told “Khabar Lahariya” about BHU campus. Along with that, I will also insert bits of news about my neighborhood. These latter bits are brought to you by Chaiwallah’s source, his dear friend Sabjiwallah who listened in on two women who came to buy veggies from his cart…

Sources reveal that members of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, the right-wing student body affiliated to the BJP, have benefited over other students in the admissions process.

Sources also reveal that these days something is going on between Aman and Savita bhabhi’s younger daughter Anjali. Sources reveal that one evening Aman dropped off Anjali on his bike. And that Savita bhabhi’s husband has bought a new car. How do they have so much money? Maybe they are close to RSS.

Students who topped the entrance exam were pushed lower down the rankings to make way for ABVP students.”

In other news, Savita bhabhi is so embarassed by Aman and Anjali’s affair that she might opt to get the two of them married even before she finds a match for her elder daughter Ankita..

For instance, a student ranked number three was pushed down to 30 for an ABVP student who failed the exam….”

One time, Aman and Anjali got so shameless that Anjali brought Aman home when her parents were away…

The university’s Brocha sports field appears to have become a regular hunting ground for new recruits and converts for the RSS…

The park full of trees near the lake appears to have become a regular haunt for shameless young couples…

Just two weeks ago, on the occasion of Swami Vivekananda’s birthday (another Hindu icon appropriated by the right-wing), the ground reverberated with cries of Jai Shri Ram….

Just two weeks ago, on the occasion of Valentine’s Day, the park was full of couples making out in the bushes…

Witnesses said that faculty members are regular visitors to the Sangh’s meetings held in the grounds…..”

Witnesses say that grown ups have also joined in the shamelessness. Witnesses say that Monu’s dad was in the same park with a girl the other day.

But the more worrying trend is that the number of university students at these meetings has rapidly increased in the last year…

The more worrying trend is that the number of couples in this park has also rapidly increased in the last year. Log kya kahenge?
