Richa Bharti is the free speech hero that India needs

Sometimes when everyone from government to courts to political parties fails in protecting the basic free speech of citizens, it takes a first year college student to speak the truth.

So Ranchi girl Richa Bharti asked aloud why “one community” is disproportionately represented among terrorists. From what I have heard, she was responding to a viral TikTok video where some “seculars” ask  what if Tabrez Ansari’s son decides to “avenge” his father’s death by becoming a terrorist?

By the way, the answer to the second question is quite simple. If anyone becomes a terrorist, they deserve to be neutralized by law enforcement.

The answer to the first question is actually simple as well. The only difference is that it would take a lot of courage to answer it honestly.

For instance, Richa Bharti wanted to know why we have never seen a Kashmiri Pandit become a terrorist?

Again, everyone knows the answer, but nobody would dare to say it. Not the vast majority of Hindus who would rather believe that the moon is made of cheese and that all religions are exactly the same. Even fewer would bear to hear it. Least of all the BJP government in Jharkhand, which arrested her for asking the question.

What followed next is chilling as the court agreed to give her bail on condition that she would distribute five copies of the Quran.

A Hindu being asked to buy her freedom by paying an Islamic tribute? An act that brings back the worst of the civilizational memories of Hindus and Sikhs who have lived in India.

In Delhi, there is the Gurudwara Sheesh Ganj Sahib, where Guru Tegh Bahadur, the ninth Sikh guru, laid down his life.  I suggest the court to go read up on the history of the site before asking a Hindu or a Sikh to buy their freedom by paying a tribute to Islamism.

What happens if Richa Bharti refuses to submit? Will Richa Bharti be asked next to convert to Islam? The learned and Honorable Court should answer the question posed by the first year college student.

Rarely do we have moments such as this when the farce of India’s pseudo-secularism lies brutally exposed. Do Hindus have free speech rights or not? The Courts must answer.

Here is why every Hindu should learn from Richa Bharti. She was just a college student, she was not set up by anyone. She did not care about petty partisanship. Spontaneous and unscripted, she has thrown a question before India’s pseudo-secular establishment.

And so assured was the establishment in its pseudo-secular ways that they have tied themselves in knots. The beauty of the whole things lies in its simplicity.

On December 1, 1955, a bus driver in Montgomery, Alabama asked a black woman to stand up so that a white passenger would have her seat. This was common in the United States at the time and people of color would have to submit.

But something incredible happened that day. Something powerful and yet so simple. The woman refused. That black woman was Rosa Parks, who began a civil rights movement that ended racial segregation in America.

Ordinary people can do extraordinary things, even make history. IF we lend our voices to her and support her.

At the moment, the young Ranchi girl has a lot of odds stacked against her. We cannot say how long she can sustain by herself. But her simple act of defiance has the potential to make history. IF she gets the support of hundreds of millions of Hindus.

  1. Why are you giving a free pass to the BJP GOVERNMENT of Jharkand for arresting her? The issue of bail would not have come up had the Jharkand government not arrested her, following in the glorious footsteps of Mamata Banerjee.

“At the moment, the young Ranchi girl has a lot of odds stacked against her. We cannot say how long she can sustain by herself. But her simple act of defiance has the potential to make history. IF she gets the support of hundreds of millions of Hindus.”

I would settle for the support of even a single of BJP politician, all of them allegedly Hindus. But they have been better secularists than the secularists themselves.

“Again, everyone knows the answer, but nobody would dare to say it. Not the vast majority of Hindus who would rather believe that the moon is made of cheese and that all religions are exactly the same.”

This vast majority apparently includes the Prime Minister. Has Modi instructed all of his CMs to follow his path of “ahimsa”? Lately I am noticing that even Yogi has been bitten by the “ahimsa” bug, e.g. in the recent attempted lynching of a Dalit in Amethi.

“An act that brings back the worst of the civilizational memories of Hindus and Sikhs who have lived in India.”

We are witnessing far too many of these “civilisational memories” of late. If the BJP doesn’t stop its pandering game it won’t get the support of Hindus in future.

The not so learned judge who put in this ridiculous bail condition has been faithful to the people who “appointed” him. The same cannot be said of the BJP government.

  2. It should not have come to this. We have the BJP both at the center and in Jharkhand and yet the cops arrested her and subjected her to this nonsensical judgement. Which means the BJP is now a sikoolar party itself and doesnt care about Hindus except at the time of elections. Hindus did not give votes to the BJP to see these kind of days.
As Prof. Vidyasagar mentions, BJP is trying to better at sikoolarism than the Congress and has already succeeded in bettering the Congress in appeasement.

These kind of incidents where Hindus get shafted are happening with too great frequency these days. Hindus need to start giving targeted defeats to the top BJP leaders to send home the message that this wont be tolerated. Perhaps begin with Fadnavis in Maharashtra.

This episode also shows the colonial attitude of the cops as well as the judge. It also shows how rotten our legal system derived from English law is. A legal system that was meant to suppress the native is still alive and kicking. Both our police force and judicial system need to become a Dharmic system, only then the British would have left India in the truest sense. Ofcourse we also need Dharmic leaders, not ones who just bow to a cut-pasted constitution.

  3. Every negative has some positive. This arrest and the shitty judgement against her has made her much more popular than if these two things were absent.

Least we RWs can do is, make her at least as popular as the leftist, Pseudo Seculars made that girl popular who said Pakistan did not kill his father…

      1. What is there to ask of the BJP in the matter? They have already established their lack of enthusiasm in addressing such matters.
But let us see what we can do about it. Clearly it is a violation of the constitution. This violates Religious Freedom. However, since indic religions don’t have any single book, it is open season to attack us. So while a Harvester or a Peaceful can exactly point out what offended him, we cannot. By default this law is not fair.
Further, how do we measure feelings? Is there any harm in hurting religious sentiments? I am curious about how they determine what constitutes hurt sentiments.
The demand on the end of Hindus in particular should be the complete removal of this insult to reason and fairness from the penal code.
I don’t think people should be sent to jail for openly expressing “thought crimes”.
CW ji put it quite aptly, everyone knows the answer, but no one can say it. What kind of system do we live under where the truth cannot be uttered?
We should extend every sort of support to this brave girl and her family. Not a hair should be missing from their heads and not a violent threat made. If the state will not protect its citizens, it is contingent upon society to so so.

    1. A bigger positive is that this is one more proof point that BJP is full of secular zero watt bulbs. Hindus giving absolute majority to such a party is of no use, they wont even lift a finger for Hindus.

If there had been even a half decent opposition, BJP would have lost the 2019 election. Also if there had been a half decent opposition, BJP would have been more alert to Hindu interests.

This is a big opportunity for someone to form a new pro-Hindu party. Given the serious missteps BJP has taken after May 2019, it would have a decent shot.

  4. Off topic question…yesterday the NIA amendment bill, that would add more powers to the agency to deal with terrorism/cyber-crime/human-trafficking etc. was passed in Lok Sabha. As expected, closet jehadi Owaisi and hapless Congi-morons raised a sickular raucous over the bill, but could not stall its passage, thanks to overwhelming numbers with the government.

Now my question is, will this also need to cleared by Rajya Sabha? If yes, how does the BJP/NDA plan to take on the opposition? We don’t have majority in the upper house, do we? In that case, will this bill also linger on like triple talaq ordinance and never become a law?

Can someone explain the Rajya Sabha situation as of now and what options to the government have to make the bill sail through?

      1. The article does not say any such thing.

And I am getting sick of seeing that particular “tough guy” photo of Shah. What CONCRETE action has he taken in the case of the destruction of the Durga temple in Chandni Chowk, which falls directly under his supervision? Enough chamcha-giri from andha-bhaktas of Modi-Shah! I want to see actual results.

  5. The girl is arrested in record time for a Facebook post, that too in which she has said. nothing new. The Samudai Vishesh do in fact form the overwhelming majority of terrorist the world over, and people remark on tbis on a daily basis.

If we compare this to the Chandni Chowk temple vandalism, even getting an FIR lodged was seen as some sort of achievement, that too after massive outrage.

Time for Hindus to close ranks behind this plucky girl. The Sickulars will bark from the sidelines anyway so are best ignored.

    1. “The Sickulars will bark from the sidelines anyway so are best ignored.”

Adherents of sanatana dharma who merely bark from the sidelines will also be ignored. Having said that, I am at a loss to suggest specific actions. I realize that just venting on forums like this is no substitute for real action, and am open to advice as to concrete steps.

One good thing that has come out of this is that the duplicity of Modi V2.0 has been exposed in record time. I guess we are stuck with him for a full five years, and have to wait until 2024 to send a message.

In the meantime, Fadnavis is coming up for re-election. He has shown that he is no slouch when it comes to looting Hindu temples. People who are worried about what Jagan is going to do the Tirumala temple happily overlook the looting of Shirdi Saibaba temple by Fadnavis (a “loan” of 500 crore Rupees!). I can’t imagine what causes Abhishek to admire this fraud so such an extent.

      1. Last year, I think, Subramanian Swamy tweeted about Hindus needing a Shin Bet. It came after some terrorist outrage. I wondered what on earth is a Shin Bet. Seems, it is Israel’s department for dirty works.

To my knowledge Swamy never elaborated on this cryptic tweet. But maybe something can be worked out within the legal framework.

  6. Hello Abhishek,
I was reading some of your online posts and articles. More recently the case of Richa Bharti in Ranchi, I do understand that the question “Why most of the terrorists are muslims by faith?” needs to be answered. If not to the society at least we the muslims should have an answer to ourself so that this issue can be looked after.

But Abhishek not all Islamic ideologies based on Quran are violent. While being too close to rulers of the country during Mughal era, they were the Chishtiya and Naqshbandi Sufis who constantly used their positions of spiritual leadership to demilitarise civil society. It is indeed the right wing Saudi ideology that has propagated in last 70 years and has worsened the situation at a rate that has challenged the capacity of Sufis of our times. The Sufis are now powerless as the society is materialistic and seldom attach themselves to spirituality. Sufis always believed in winning hearts than kingdom.

Sometimes I visit some spiritual leaders, they say to me: Ab zamane main log baat maanne wale nahi rahe, log zulm kar humse baat manwate hain.

Many of the financial needs of the muslim society all over the globe in the last 40 years or so have directly been taken care of Saudis and this has had very tough impact on us. You won’t believe but I meet sometimes people who have become fanatics, they express their feelings thinking that I share it too. I have always tired to counsel young lads and many others too I believe have dedicated their life to de-radicalise muslim youth.

The US hypocritical policy of supporting saudis while being “against terrorism” has further led to the import of radical ideology. Explained in a lay man term: Sufis could somewhat take the local radicals and preach them but after the Saudi imported with oil and US backed ideology, Sufis have find it difficult to defuse the young minds.

But Abhishek, if you generalise a particular tag to ALL muslims, people like me may be left weak and only to be devoured by those who advocate violence. We sufis could have easily been rulers in Mughal era too, but we never had any worldly pursuits and politics to our benefit in our minds.

Anyways this was something non-mathematical that we talked about.

  7. What is this secularism as understood in India?Does it mean interiorizing the notion of monotheistic superiority and Hindu inferiority and thereby legitimizing unequal treatment?
